What wood gives you
Warmth that vinyl and metal do not have, the lowest entry price of any privacy fence we install, and the ability to shape a run to the property — stepping down a slope, following an irregular line, working around what is already there.
It is also the material that asks the most of you afterwards. Read the maintenance section before you decide.
Heights
Six foot privacy
Full-height boards for back yards. This is the standard privacy height and what most people mean by a wood fence.
Four foot
Lower boundary runs for front yards and side lines. Noticeably less per linear foot than six foot — less material, less rail, less labour.
Maintenance, honestly
Florida is the hardest climate in the country for wood. Sun, daily rain for half the year, and humidity that never really drops.
Seal it every two to three years and it lasts well over a decade. Skip that and you will see grey boards within a couple of seasons and soft posts at ground level not long after.
If nobody in the house is going to seal a fence every couple of years, the honest recommendation is vinyl. It costs more up front and asks for nothing but a wash.
How we build it
Pressure-treated posts set in concrete, at a depth matched to your ground. Rails fastened to the posts, boards to the rails. The posts are the part that decides how long the fence lasts, so that is where the work goes.
On sloped ground a run either steps down in sections or follows the grade. We show you both on site — they look very different once built.

Other materials
