Why gates are their own job
A fence panel stands still. A gate swings, takes weight on two hinges, and gets used several times a day for years. Build it like a panel and it sags inside a season.
That means a braced frame, posts set deeper than the run either side of it, and hardware rated for the weight it actually carries. Most gate failures we are called out to fix are one of those three.
Types
Walk gates
Single gates for foot access — side yards, back yards, the path to the front door. Matched to the fence in material, height and style so the run reads as one line.
Drive gates
Double gates for vehicle access. Wider spans need stiffer frames and deeper posts, and the opening has to suit how the driveway approaches it.
Custom and specialty
Oversized spans, custom welding, automation and anything outside a standard build is priced after we see it. Those never come off a table.
Materials

Gate cost depends on type, width and material, and it is quoted separately from the fence run. A chain-link walk gate and a wide aluminum drive gate are different jobs at different prices.
Adding a gate to an existing fence
Cutting an opening into a run you already have means setting new posts on both sides, sized to carry a moving load rather than a static panel. We look at the existing posts and the ground before quoting, because whether the current run can take it is the whole question.
